Attending our Virtual Conference
Dates
The dates for the Virtual Distinctive Teaching and Learning Conference are August 2-4, 2023; 10:00 am – 2:00 pm EDT (2:00 pm – 6:00 pm UTC). Take a minute to add these to your calendar now!
The event happens live! This means that the speaker sessions are not recorded and then played but they are actually delivering them live (there may be an exception to this for speakers with unreliable internet).
Anytime you are able to attend session live will give you the best experience. You will want to be part of this unique community.
Platform
We are using a platform called Hopin to bring you the live event. Just like many things today, you need to be connected to this platform in order to use it. Hopin calls this “registering.” You can “Register” within our event now – the process is very simple. Fill out your name and email address, Hopin will email you a confirmation and that’s it!

Tech
You are going to have the BEST attendee experience by using a laptop or desktop computer!
Use a laptop or desktop
You will have the BEST attendee experience if you can use a laptop or desktop. Hopin does offer a mobile app if that is your only option, but we encourage you to use a laptop if you can.
Mic and Camera are helpful
You don’t have to have a webcam and a microphone to participate, but they are very helpful and allow you to network with other attendees.
Use Google Chrome or Firefox
Hopin will work best in the following browsers (the tool you use to get on the internet): Google Chrome and FireFox. Other browsers such as Safari or MS Edge sometimes work and sometimes don’t.
Continuing Education Units
By attending the entire conference live, you may earn up to two CEUs for free. You must attend six sessions for one CEU and twelve for two. Simply email hello@distinctiveteachingandlearning.com with the list of sessions attended by August 7, 2023.
Recordings
Yes! We are recording the conference!
The recordings will be available for purchase now or during the conference. They will be hosted in an easy-to-navigate platform. You will have access to the content for at least one year.
The content will be invaluable to you as you engage students over the course of your next year.
Get Creative with how you utilize the recordings
You can purchase the recordings for use for professional development for faculty members. Or provide them as a resource your educators can reference throughout the school year.
This will be invaluable for educators to reference again and again.
